Q: We only have a small outdoor space. Do you take on small projects?
A: Absolutely. No project is too small for us. Even the tiniest balcony or courtyard can become a lush retreat, a green escape, and a design statement. We believe that every space has potential and deserves to be beautiful.
Q: Is your style modern or classic?
A: We specialize in creating lush, low-maintenance and modern personalized gardens, not by copying trends, but by responding to context.
Successful design works from the house outwards. The property always guides our design, because if the house doesn't blend with the garden, the garden design has failed. We don’t impose a look, we shape an atmosphere.
Whether your taste leans toward timeless elegance, wild naturalism, or crisp contemporary lines, we design gardens that feel like they’ve always belonged… just better.
Q: Are you gardeners? Why not just hire a gardener to design my garden?
A: We have great respect for the craft of gardeners. But just as a bladesmith and a hairstylist both master sharp tools, you wouldn’t go to a bladesmith for a haircut.
Garden design is about more than planting. It requires spatial awareness, an understanding of proportion, flow, and the subtle dialogue between nature and architecture.
Good garden design rests on the ability to create a sense of enclosure and beauty because, as humans, we naturally gravitate toward spaces that feel sheltered, calm, and safe.

A: At Studio Gartenluxe we are specialized in creating lush, low-maintenance gardens for busy owners. We transform outdoor spaces into a flourishing oasis with a year-round interest. We create gardens that feel secluded, harmonious, and truly yours.
Our expertise in design principles, materials, and construction elements, combined with strong botanical knowledge, allows us to skillfully blend form and function.
We understand the unique qualities of built materials, the varied textures of stone, the aging of wood, as well as how natural light moves to influence space and senses. With extensive training in designing patios, ponds, pools, pergolas, tennis courts, and more, we deliver fully integrated, holistic garden designs.
Q: Do you work with what’s already there, or do you start from scratch?
A: Every garden tells a story, and we observe and listen before we write the next chapter. When it comes to plants, we aim to honor what’s already thriving and enhance it. Wherever possible, we preserve healthy, established specimens, especially mature trees, and let them shine in the new design. We often build the concept around these living anchors or weave them seamlessly into a new vision.
Other times, a garden calls for a complete transformation, new materials, fresh surfaces, rethinking levels, adjusting slopes, or reworking the entire layout to better serve the space and its users.
We tailor our approach to the physical character of the site, to environmental factors like noise pollution, wind direction and quality of light, and most importantly, to your vision.
Q: Do you work remotely or only in Switzerland?
A: If you’re looking for design services only, we happily work remotely. No worries, no need for us to travel. Our gardens are already flourishing in California, France, Croatia, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, and beyond. However, if you want us to help manage the entire project and operations, we need to be based on-site and will travel accordingly to ensure everything runs smoothly.
